Wheelchair stair lift – The escalators are for the feet, not for the wheelchairs … and this video shows why. This happened last Friday in Boston. It is not clear why the woman tried to raise her electric wheelchair up the stairs – an elevator was only 15 feet away – but it was clearly not a good idea.  Things quickly take a turn when gravity and the steep angle of the stairs combine to flip the woman, and she and her chair begin to fall backward. A man in front of her on the stairs is immediately down to help her and another person arrives at the stairs to press the emergency button. But they are terrible seconds. These wheelchairs can weigh up to 90 kilos.
